Aged Mandarin Peel Puer
Aged Mandarin Peel Puer
Aged Mandarin Peel Puer tea (Chen Pi Puer) is a blend of earthy ripe Puer tea and dried mandarin orange peel, aged together for enhanced and well rounded flavor. The tea is made with ripe (shou) Puer, a fermented dark tea from Yunnan, China, which contributes rich, earthy, and smooth notes. The aged mandarin peel, called Chen Pi, adds a sweet, and slightly citrusy profile, with complexity developing over time as the peel mellows and deepens in flavor. When brewed, the tea offers a balance of the deep, earthy flavors from the Puer and bright, aromatic citrus from the mandarin peel. Taste notes range from woodsy and smooth with subtle caramel undertones to a refreshing zest with hints of spice. The older the mandarin peel, the more mellow and sophisticated the citrus notes become. The tea is typically brewed Gongfu style, allowing the flavors to evolve through multiple infusions.
